# Search Robinhood Chain tokens, pools and wallets by name or address

> Find a Robinhood Chain token's address by name or symbol, or look up any address or Uniswap v4 pool id, with one search call. Real responses included.

Source: https://docs.crius.sh/guides/search-tokens/ · Updated 2026-10-28

Short answer

Call `GET /v1/robinhood/search?q=<text>`. Text is matched as a prefix of token names and symbols (case-insensitive, best markets first); a 0x address or a 32-byte v4 pool id is matched exactly and comes back as a `token`, `pool`, `hook` or `wallet`. `type` narrows the kind, `limit` goes up to 20. Anonymous plan.

[GET `/search`](https://docs.crius.sh/reference/discovery/search/) [GET `/token/{address}`](https://docs.crius.sh/reference/tokens/token-profile/)

Search turns what a user types into a Robinhood Chain address. Type part of a token’s name or symbol and you get the matching tokens with their price, liquidity, launchpad, logo and links. Paste an address or a Uniswap v4 pool id and you get exactly what it is: a token, a pool, a hook or a wallet. It is built for search boxes: one call per keystroke, anonymous, 1 credit with a key.

What this tells you

- All three results have `name: "Pons"` and `symbol: "PONS"`. Only the first (`0x39dbed3a2bd333467115de45665cc57f813c4571`) has a logo and links to `https://ponsfamily.com/launchpad` and `https://x.com/ponsdotfamily`, and it has `liquidity_usd: 5251912`.
- The second (`0x6c1ae0de06c8c6afb83d29251dfae197c73db9f9`) trades at $0.274026, close to the real token’s $0.28844, on $10,100 of liquidity and with no links. A lookalike priced like the original is the one users get tricked by.
- The third (`0x2b83910e725ef6822cf1be3fba2fb07bdb7afec8`) is priced at $0.0000035: an unrelated token reusing the name.
- `launchpad: null` on all three: Pons the token wasn’t launched from Pons the launchpad.

Results are ranked so the one users mean usually comes first:

1. An exact symbol match before a prefix match.
2. Tokens that have traded before tokens that never have.
3.  Higher `liquidity_usd` first.

If fewer tokens match than `limit`, the main pools of the best three matches follow as `type: "pool"` results.

## Look up an address or pool id

Paste a 0x string and search stops guessing: it matches the exact address or pool id.

### A Uniswap v4 pool id: CHARGE/ETH

- `type: "pool"`, `dex: "uniswap_v4"`, `pair: "CHARGE/ETH"`: this is the pool Charge AI graduated into from its Pons curve.

## What search returns

| `type` | Matched by | Fields |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `token` | Name or symbol prefix, or the exact token address | `address`, `name`, `symbol`, `price_usd`, `liquidity_usd`, `launchpad`, `launchpad_name`, `logo`, `links`, `label` |
| `pool` | Exact v4 pool id or v2/v3 pool address; also the best matches' main pools | `pool`, `dex`, `pair`, `liquidity_usd` |
| `hook` | Exact address of a Uniswap v4 hook | `address`, `name`, `pools` |
| `wallet` | Any other exact address | `address`, `label` |

Parameters: `q` (required), `type` (`token`, `pool`, `wallet` or `hook`) to return one kind only, and `limit` (default 10, at most 20).

## Use it in your app

1. **Call search on each keystroke, debounced.** 150–250 ms after the user stops typing is enough; the anonymous plan allows 2 requests per second per IP, so a busy site should proxy through its own key.

2. **Show the evidence next to each name.** Logo, `liquidity_usd`, `launchpad_name` and the website from `links` are what tell the real token from a copy.

3. **Route by `type`.** Tokens go to a token page, pools to a pool page, wallets to a wallet page. A pasted address never needs a second lookup to know what it is.

4. **Load the full record once the user picks.** Search results are summaries; the [token profile](https://docs.crius.sh/guides/get-token-data/) has supply, holders, launch and security.

```js
// Search box backend: debounce, call search, label each result.
let timer;
export function onInput(text, render) {
  clearTimeout(timer);
  if (!text.trim()) return render([]);
  timer = setTimeout(async () => {
    const url = `https://api.crius.sh/v1/robinhood/search?q=${encodeURIComponent(text.trim())}&limit=8`;
    const { data } = await (await fetch(url)).json();
    render(
      data.map((r) =>
        r.type === "token"
          ? `${r.symbol} · ${r.name} · $${Math.round(r.liquidity_usd)} liq · ${r.launchpad_name ?? "direct"} · ${r.address}`
          : r.type === "pool"
            ? `${r.pair} pool on ${r.dex} · ${r.pool}`
            : `${r.type} ${r.name ?? r.label ?? ""} ${r.address}`,
      ),
    );
  }, 200);
}
```

Never resolve a symbol to an address automatically

A bot that buys “the token called PONS” will sooner or later buy a copy. Resolve symbols with search, let the user (or your allowlist) pick the address, and store the address from then on.

## Frequently asked questions

**How do I find a Robinhood Chain token's contract address by name?**

Call `GET https://api.crius.sh/v1/robinhood/search?q=<name or symbol>` and take the `address` of the result you want. Results with an exact symbol match come first, then tokens that have traded, ranked by liquidity. Check the `links` and `liquidity_usd` before you trust a name: copies of popular tokens are common.

**Why are there several tokens with the same symbol?**

Anyone can deploy a token with any name and symbol. A search for `pons` returns the real Pons token with $5.25 million of liquidity and two other tokens named Pons with no links, one priced close to the real one. The address is the only identity a token has.

**Can I search by pool id or hook address?**

Yes. Paste a Uniswap v4 pool id (a 32-byte hex string) to get the pool with its pair, DEX and liquidity, or a hook address to get the hook's name and pool count. A v2 or v3 pool address works the same way.

**What does search return for a wallet address?**

An address that isn't a token, pool or hook comes back as `type: "wallet"` with its `label` when Crius knows the address, otherwise `label: null`. For the wallet's holdings and trades, use the [wallet endpoints](https://docs.crius.sh/guides/get-wallet-pnl-and-holdings/).

**Is search case-sensitive?**

No. `charge`, `CHARGE` and `Charge` return the same tokens. Matching is on the start of the name or symbol, so `char` finds Charge AI but `ai` doesn't.
